Korean Friendship Bell
Donated in 1976 to the people of Los Angeles by the people of the Republic of Korea, the Korean Friendship Bell in Angels Gate Park celebrates the bicentennial of U.S. independence, honors veterans of the Korean War and consolidates traditional friendship between the two countries. Resting peacefully on the knoll overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the site affords an unsurpassed view of the Los Angeles harbor, Catalina Channel and sea terraces of San Pedro hill. The Korean Bell is only rung three times a year: on the 4th of July, August 15 (Korean Independence Day) and New Year’s Eve. For more information, call (310) 548-7705.. |
